In fact, Dying Light recently got a facelift when it released the next-gen update for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 as well as the PS4 Pro. Amidst the growing popularity of Dying Light 2, the developers don't seem to have forgotten about the original title either. Comparatively, the original Dying Light has recorded 20 million units in sales since its 2015 launch. Released in February 2022, the follow-up for Dying Light has been well received by fans, with Dying Light 2: Stay Human selling 5 million units during its first month following release. But while the second iteration of Dying Light is currently doing well, the developers continue to add life to the original title by offering new updates.
The game offered an entertaining experience for zombie fans and its success managed to build excitement for the game's 2022 sequel. It's been seven years since Techland released the original Dying Light.
